In today’s constantly changing business environment there are always new and better ways of doing just about everything. As a marketer, I can tell you that there’s never a moment where I can sit back and get comfortable with the way we are driving business growth. New technologies, approaches and strategies are continually hitting the market, and to be successful in my job – and I’m sure many others can relate – it is critical to continually keep my knowledge and skills up to date.
At HRSG, we define this ability to continue to learn and grow as “Continuous Learning”. For most of us within the organization, this competency is in our own competency profiles and it’s a reminder that we need to keep acquiring new knowledge in order to do things better. But who has the time or budget to constantly take courses or attend seminars? Incorporating a mindset of on-the-job learning, where you can focus in on a few quick tips to help you develop your skills and knowledge is a great way to build competency informally.
In the spirit of the holidays, this Thursday we are launching the 12 Days of Competencies.
